What personal data we collect and why we collect it
1.1. When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
2.1 If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
3.1. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
3.2. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
3.3. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
3.4. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
4. Embedded content from other websites
4.1. Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
5.1. We may use site analytics to determine our business model from time to time, we may also share aggregated data with partners and potential partners to show progress and discuss future business direction.
6. Who we share your data with
6.1. We do not share your data with anyone.
6.2. Our partners or parent company may view profiles or ask our administrators to affirm that a user and/or related paymail has been vetted and verified.
6.3. We do not share any information on users, only that we have vetted and verified their profile.
6.4. In most cases the verification of someones paymail and/or identity can be seen by any third party by simply viewing the user profile and seeing whether it has a Blue Tick at the top of the profile near the user’s name, indicating that the user has been verified.
7. How long we retain your data
7.1 If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
7.2. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
8. What rights you have over your data
8.1. If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
9. Where we send your data
9.1. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
10. Your contact information
10.1. We use electronic mediums to contact you as outlined in our terms of service and your physical mailing address is contained on Paypal, we do not control or have anything to do with Paypal security. We always advise that users should use 2-factor-authentication anywhere they hold PII (personal identifiable information).
11. How we protect your data
11.1. We do not hold your PII and internal backend access is limited to administrators who are fully vetted.
12. What data breach procedures we have in place
12.1. We report any such breach to our customers within 24 hours or sooner after we have noticed any such breach.
12.2. We also report any such breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office when appropriate.
